Week 5

Highlights from the week:

- We had our own Superbowl party with the Hilemans to celebrate the Steelers and what turned out to be their big win!  While Geof and his Dad were caught up in the game, the rest of us enjoyed the 3-D commercials and yummy football food in the basement.  K also played along on his drum set to the E Street Band and he was actually pretty good!

- I spent the morning hanging wall galleries in the basement.  The portrait session with Season was last year, and Geof is suspicious that we finished the basement just to have a place for these pictures... ;)

- Fancy talked me into dance class, and they said she could be in the end of the year recital if she started this week.  So off we went to purchase tap and ballet shoes, tights and a leotard.

- Fancy's first dance class was a smashing success!  

- EB and I spent the morning at a friend's house making hair bows.  Fancy had requested a rainbow bow, and I made two other small ones for EB now that she has enough hair.  I spent too much time talking and tending to EB to get much done, but it was a fun way to spend the morning!

- We had a wonderful warm day, so we carted the kids out to Siler City to the Celebrity Goat Farm (we are still wondering about the name...).  It's a family dairy farm that is only open to the public twice a year, so it's not really set up like the typical "tourist" farm.  You just park and start roaming around.  No admission, no shop, no signs telling you what the breeds are, no milking demonstrations.  But it was really fun!  We got to play among the goats (who seemed a bit overwhelmed), watch the antics of chickens coming in and out of their makeshift house - an old church bus, swing on the porch swing, swing on a rope swing, play on hay bales, hold our noses as we passed the pig sty, climb on fallen logs, and feed hay to the goats.
