Ellary is 6 months old! So around here that means she gets to try eating Cheerios. She's just about able to sit up totally unsupported, so on Monday after her 6-month check-up we let her give them a try. She spent most of the time fingering them on her tray and them batting them around. If she managed to get one in her fist she would bring it to her mouth, but she never got one in on her own. I fed her a few, and each time she got very wide-eyed, moved her mouth like she was nursing on it, and then made terrible gagging faces and started fussing! She did NOT like them. We'll try again in a week or so. Hopefully she'll come around to them, because she is making meal times very difficult with her wanting to grab at our food and fussing throughout our meal. I remember fondly the days when we could put Kellen or Addie in the high chair and let them eat Cheerios while the rest of us ate dinner in peace!
She played with them for a while, then Kellen showed her what to do with them.
She did TRY to get one in her mouth, but eventually I had to feed one to her.
It popped right back out and she tried to lick it off the tray. But she lost it soon thereafter!
So we switched to sweet potatoes (and forgot her bib), and here is the happy result :o)
