EB's baby book has run out since she has passed the 1 year mark, and I feel at a loss of where to record her "milestones." I've been pretty good about documenting her babyhood so far, so I'm just going to jot down a few things here so I'll remember later when I make a blog book or something. Anyway, a few of the amazing things EB does that every other baby also does but that are special because she's mine! ;)
- She is terribly picky about what she eats. She finds one food she likes and latches onto it. I believe she is built from watermelon and milk this week, though she seems to be losing interest in watermelon in favor of blueberries.
- When she tries a food - any food, whether or not she has had it before - she flicks her tongue in and out like a snake and tests the texture of the food on her tongue before deciding whether or not it's going in. More often than not the food fails her test.
- This week walking has become her preferred mode of transportation, at least as a start. After about 5 feet she usually drops and crawls, but she always tries walking now.
- She can really shake it if you tell her to dance!
- She loves shoes and tries to put them on her feet.
- She does not like chocolate milk.
- She loves loves loves bicycles and wants to spend the entire afternoon outside sitting on big sister's bike. She threw her very first tantrum at the store today when I let her sit on the world's tiniest 2-wheeler with training wheels but then put it back on the shelf and moved on. She WANTED that bike!
- She loves the drum set. Whenever big brother starts playing she heads straight up the stairs and into his room, grabs a drumstick, and starts banging on the tom tom. K seems quite happy to have her play with him, though I'm thinking baby earplugs are necessary.
- She is the first of my three kids who actually likes to play with toys. She loves to manipulate Little People and move them around their house, barn, castle, etc. She likes to push cars and give babies rides in her stroller. She builds with blocks and cooks in her toy kitchen. She always finds things with Elmo on them and says "hi!", and she loves to go back and forth with me pretending to talk on the phone. She seems so content to be with her toys, and as odd as it seems, my other kids never really did or do that.
- She has discovered that banging a crayon on paper leaves a mark. This also works on floors, chairs and reading books...
- She likes to put things back. She will dump the crayons just so she can put them back in the box. She likes putting her toys back in their basket, and she likes to dump out her baby purse and fill it back up.
- Every animal is still a squirrel to her.
- She is still mommy's girl and woe to anyone who tries to hold her if mommy is around! ;)
